House with Chimaeras or Gorodetsky House (Ukrainian: ������, Budynok z khymeramy; Russian: �� ��, Dom s khimerami) is an Art Nouveau building located in the historic Lypky neighborhood of Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. Situated across the street from the President of Ukraine's office at No. 10, Bankova Street, the building has been used as a presidential residence for official and diplomatic ceremonies since 2005.[1][2] The street in front of the building is closed off to all automobile traffic, and is now a patrolled pedestrian zone due to its near proximity to the Presidential Administration building.
Architect Vladislav Gorodetsky originally constructed the House with Chimaeras for use as his own upmarket apartment building during the period of 1901�1902. However, as the years went by, Gorodetsky eventually had to sell the building due to financial troubles, after which it changed ownership numerou...
About Marina Gnetetsky
Marina Gnetetsky, artist/illustrator/painter; earned her BFA in Decorative Arts at the College of Art and Design in Kiev (Ukraine, 1980), and her MFA in Illustration at the Ukrainian Academy of Fine and Communication Arts, Kiev (Ukraine, 1989) where she was trained in a classical/traditional style of painting and drawing in a variety of media. Her art works range from those in acrylic on canvas and paper, ink and pen, pencil, watercolors, as well as mixed media. After settling in California in 1996, Marina successfully engaged in various professional/artistic fields further tuning her natural talent and passion. In 2001 she developed a recognizable poster for the First Festival of Russian Culture and Art, held in West Hollywood. Her...
